Tank Mates: Not a community fish. Keep alone or with very peaceful species. Several males can coexist given enough cover, but pairs are isolated for breeding.
Diet & Feeding: Base the diet on live and frozen Daphnia, Artemia and bloodworm. Dried foods are taken once recognised, but live food keeps colour up.
Breeding & Spawning: A bubble-nester. The male builds a surface nest and alone guards eggs and fry; eggs hatch in 24-48 hours and fry swim free 3-4 days later. Fry need infusoria.
