Amphiprion sandaracinos
A small pale-orange anemonefish with a single white stripe running from the upper lip along the back, and no vertical bars. Gentle and easily bullied, so choose peaceful tank mates.
The Orange Skunk Clownfish (Amphiprion sandaracinos) is found in the western Pacific from Western Australia to the Ryukyu Islands, Taiwan, the Philippines, New Guinea and the Solomon Islands. It lives in pairs or small groups on lagoon and outer reefs at 3-20 m, mainly with Mertens' carpet anemone (Stichodactyla mertensii) and the leathery anemone (Heteractis crispa). The pale orange body has a single white stripe from the upper lip along the base of the dorsal fin and no vertical bars; the similar Pink Skunk Clownfish has an additional white head bar. Maximum length is 14 cm. It is a protandrous hermaphrodite that spawns in pairs on the substrate, with the male guarding the eggs. It has been reared in captivity and captive-bred fish are traded. A tank of 114 L or more is recommended and a host anemone is optional. It stays small and is not aggressive, making it well suited to reef tanks, but it is easily bullied, so tank mates should be peaceful species.
