Theloderma corticale is a semi-aquatic rhacophorid of evergreen and subtropical forest in northern Vietnam, south-central Laos and southern China. Males reach about 6 cm and females 8-9 cm. The warty skin, mottled green and brown, mimics moss on rock with remarkable accuracy. It has been recorded between 470 and 1,500 m in caves and on steep rock faces, and breeds in water-filled rock cavities and tree hollows. When frightened it curls into a ball and plays dead. Captive setups are semi-aquatic with a large water area, allowing roughly 38 litres of enclosure volume per frog.
