Kubotai Rasbora

About
Microdevario kubotai is a tiny cyprinid from Thailand. FishBase records a maximum of 1.9cm SL, 29 vertebrae and 24-25 longitudinal scales, and describes it as translucent yellow in the field and greenish yellow in the aquarium, with a glowing golden lateral stripe, belly, eye and opercle and hyaline fins. Seriously Fish gives 2cm SL, 20-27C, pH 6.0-7.0, 1-10 dGH and a 60 x 30cm base. It is separated from its congeners by the clear dorsal and anal fins and nine or ten branched anal rays. Extremely peaceful, it belongs with equally small fish that share its water preferences, and other Thai species such as Boraras micros, Trigonostigma espei and Pangio are recommended. It has been bred in aquaria, scattering its eggs among vegetation with no parental care. The IUCN rates it Least Concern and it is not covered by CITES.
