Trigonostigma hengeli is a small cyprinid from Sumatra and Borneo in Indonesia. FishBase records a maximum of 3cm SL, pH 6.0, 5-12 dH and 23-28C. Seriously Fish gives 23-28C, pH 5.0-7.5 and 1-10 dGH, and warns that the fish is easily confused with T. espei and T. heteromorpha. It is told apart by its translucent body, the narrowest black wedge of the three, and the glowing orange line along the wedge's upper edge. The English name glowlight rasbora is also applied to Trigonopoma pauciperforatum, so Seriously Fish declines to use it here. Very peaceful, it mixes with small cyprinids, characins, livebearers, dwarf cichlids, catfishes and loaches. It attaches its eggs to the undersides of broad leaves rather than scattering them and gives no parental care. The IUCN rates it Least Concern and it is not covered by CITES.
