About this condition
A parasitic infection caused by the protozoan Ichthyophthirius, producing white spots on the body. It is highly contagious and spreads quickly to other fish in the tank.
Common symptoms
- White spots on body surface
- Fish rubbing against objects
- Rapid or labored breathing
- Decreased appetite

- Ichthyophthirius multifiliis protozoan infection
- Sudden changes in water temperature
- Stress
- Weakened immune system

Stable temperature management, quarantine new fish, eliminate stress factors.
