Hoplisoma duplicareum is a small callichthyid catfish from the upper Rio Negro basin in Brazil, moved out of Corydoras duplicareus in the 2024 generic revision. FishBase records 4.0cm standard length and Seriously Fish gives 40-50mm. The white body carries a black mask over the eye, a broad dark oblique bar across the back and an intense orange patch on the nape. Among the Rio Negro congeners it is most easily confused with Hoplisoma adolfoi; the bar is said to be broader and the nape patch more intense here, but Seriously Fish states that these characters cannot separate the two reliably. Aquarium conditions are 20-26C, pH 4.0-7.0 and 1-5dGH, so soft, acidic water is needed. It is peaceful and strongly gregarious and should be kept in groups of at least four to six. The IUCN Red List lists it as Data Deficient.
