The Tibetan Mastiff (Do-Khyi) has long served as the working dog of Himalayan nomads and the guardian of Tibetan monasteries, praised for its physical and mental strength in documents from Aristotle to Marco Polo, and once thought by some cynologists to be the ancestor of all mountain dogs and mastiffs.
