Centropyge bispinosa
Beautiful small angelfish with purple and orange gradient. Hardy and easy to keep — popular entry-level angelfish.
The coral beauty angelfish (Centropyge bispinosa), also known as the twospined angelfish, is a dwarf angelfish of the family Pomacanthidae found broadly across the Indo-Pacific. Its deep purple-to-blue dorsal coloration contrasting with a vivid orange-to-red belly lives up to its evocative common name. Among pygmy angelfishes, it is considered one of the more robust species, adapting readily to prepared aquarium foods. Adults reach approximately 10 cm; a tank of 100 litres or more is recommended. Omnivorous, it grazes algae as well as meaty foods, but its tendency to nip at coral polyps makes it a moderate risk in reef aquariums. As with all dwarf angels, territorial conflicts with conspecifics and related species necessitate solitary keeping under most circumstances.
