The glowlight danio, Danio choprae, is a small cyprinid believed to be restricted to the Mogaung Chaung system of the Irrawaddy basin in Kachin State, northern Myanmar. FishBase gives a maximum of 3.1 cm SL. It favours small hill streams with rocky and gravelly beds. The name is often spelled choprai. FishBase places it in Danio, while Seriously Fish treats it as Celestichthys, so the genus varies between sources. It only entered the hobby in 2003 but quickly became a popular small danio. A western Myanmar population once attributed to it was later described as D. aesculapii. Most fish in the trade are commercially bred, and it is a regular in Japanese aquarium shops. It is a different species from the pearl, zebra and giant danios.
