Cross between Lionhead and Lop breeds. Features a fluffy mane and floppy ears. Known for a sweet, affectionate temperament.
The Lion Lop (also written LionLop) is a hybrid rabbit breed created by crossing Lionhead and Holland Lop (or Mini Lop) rabbits to combine the distinctive features of both parent breeds. Adults measure 30–40 cm and weigh 1.5–2.5 kg. They inherit the pendant lop ears from the Lop parent and the characteristic wool mane around the head from the Lionhead, creating a uniquely appealing appearance. Their temperament tends to be playful and affectionate, often forming strong bonds with their owners. Grooming is a dual responsibility: the mane requires brushing 2–3 times per week to prevent matting, and the lop ears must be regularly checked and cleaned to prevent otitis externa caused by restricted ear canal airflow. Diet consists of unlimited timothy hay, species-appropriate pellets, and fresh vegetables. Common health concerns include wool block, ear infections, dental malocclusion, and GI stasis. Lifespan is 8–12 years.
