Homoeomma sp. Blue is a terrestrial tarantula from Peru that has not yet been formally described. Its colour ranges from bright blue to a deep midnight blue depending on how recently it moulted, and the legs carry cream to pink stripes. It is large for the genus, reported to reach a leg span of about 20 cm. Two lines have circulated in the trade under the name Homoeomma sp. Blue, large and small; the small one is now treated as Thrixopelma cyaneolum, and this page covers the large form. It is held to be distinct from the closely similar Thrixopelma lagunas on the shape of the male palpal bulbs and the female spermathecae, and even its generic placement is unsettled.
