A beautiful medaka with platinum silver shine across the entire body, appearing rainbow-colored under certain light.
Platinum medaka is an improved variety whose entire body carries a silver-white metallic sheen, appearing iridescent under certain lighting. Many strains combine Miyuki external body light with white body color, with the silver-white dorsal shimmer being the primary attraction. Bright indoor environments away from direct sunlight maintain body color and allow appreciation of the shifting luminescence. Hardy in 5–30°C, neutral to slightly alkaline water. Weekly water changes of approximately one-third volume maintain water quality. Selective breeding of wide external-light individuals improves quality. Its regal appearance sets it apart among white medaka varieties.
