A popular variety featuring vivid orange color. Bred from Youkihi lineage with bright body coloration.
Orange medaka is an improved variety featuring a brighter, more vivid orange body color than Youkihi. Unlike Youkihi's reddish vermilion, it displays a vitamin-color orange reminiscent of citrus fruit, brightening any tank. Developed from Youkihi lineage with body color fixed toward orange rather than red. White or bright containers best emphasize the orange hue. Regular feeding of carotenoid-rich color-enhancing food maintains vivid coloration. Hardy in 5–30°C, neutral to slightly alkaline water. Outdoor sunlight deepens the color further. Easy to breed with regular spawning given appropriate spawning mats.
