Straight-eared Scottish Fold. Same gentle personality as the Fold, distinguished by upright ears.
The Scottish Straight is the straight-eared variant of the Scottish Fold, carrying the same body type and temperament but without the folded ear mutation. In Scottish Fold breeding, cats that do not inherit the fold gene (Fd) are born with straight ears and are designated as Scottish Straights. Because breeding two Scottish Folds together significantly increases the risk of severe osteochondrodysplasia, the Scottish Straight plays an essential role in ethical Fold breeding programs. Scottish Straights share the Scottish Fold's rounded body, round face, and large eyes, and are equally gentle, calm, and affectionate in temperament, with a substantially lower risk of skeletal health problems.
