A pure white medaka with elongated fins like angel wings. Swallow-fin type white medaka.
Tenshi (Angel) medaka is an improved variety combining pure white body color with the swallow-tail trait that produces elegantly elongated fins, named for fins that flow like angel wings. The combination of clean white body color and graceful long fins creates a highly accomplished ornamental fish. Gentle water flow is essential — strong currents damage the delicate long fins, and sponge filters or similar gentle filtration are required. Side-view tanks best showcase the fin beauty. Hardy in 5–30°C, neutral to slightly alkaline water. The long-fin trait is highly heritable — fin-long x fin-long crosses produce many long-finned offspring.
