Improved medaka with refreshing soda-blue body color. Translucent blue is cool and eye-catching in summer outdoor keeping. Derived from Miyuki lineage.
Ramune medaka is an improved variety with a refreshing soda-water (ramune) light-blue body. Its translucent pale blue looks cool and refreshing, especially attractive in summer outdoor keeping. Said to derive from the Miyuki lineage, it shines even more beautifully when external body light is added to the blue. Standard body type, roughly 3–4 cm. The coloration is hardy and stable, making it relatively easy among blue varieties and suitable for beginners. Hardy across roughly 5–30°C in neutral to slightly alkaline water. The pale blue shows best in dark containers, suiting top-view observation and outdoor biotopes. Peaceful and community-compatible with similar-sized gentle varieties. Selecting parents with strong blue and external light maintains and improves the refreshing light-blue strain.
