The red lory (Eos bornea) is a medium-sized lory native to the Maluku (Moluccas) islands of Indonesia, particularly around Seram. Mostly bright red with blue and black markings on the wings, it is active and inquisitive. Like other lories it feeds chiefly on nectar, pollen and soft fruit, requiring a specialised nectar diet.
