The chattering lory (Lorius garrulus) is a forest-dwelling parrot endemic to the North Maluku islands of Indonesia. Mostly red with green wings and (in some subspecies) a yellow shoulder patch, it is lively and vocal. Like other lories it feeds chiefly on nectar, pollen and soft fruit, requiring a specialised nectar-based diet rather than seeds.
