Momiji Ranchu is a ranchu with amitoumeirin, or net-like transparent scales. Within a single scale, one part shines and another does not, and when the scales line up together they create a shimmering, net-like pattern. Like other ranchu, it has no dorsal fin and a rounded body, and it is often enjoyed from above. It is generally calm, so fast swimmers can outcompete it at feeding time. Its scale genetics differ from the calico-type transparent scales of the Sakura Ranchu. Care difficulty is rated advanced, so it suits keepers who can manage water quality and feeding carefully.

1Check the net-like scales
