Body-luster, lamé and jet-black types are all known, sharing a black body and broad, rippling fins, and it looks best viewed from above in a dark tub. Care is outdoor-friendly at 15-28°C, but the long fins are easily nipped, so avoid overcrowding; it can breed, though long-finned parents spawn poorly, so use younger fish and select parents with well-formed frills.
