Goniopora sp.
Beautiful LPS with long polyps like a bouquet. Once considered difficult to keep, but modern techniques have improved success.
Goniopora (family Acroporidae), commonly called flowerpot coral, produces dozens to hundreds of long flower-stalk polyps (3–5 mm diameter) that extend from the colony like a bouquet—one of the most visually striking LPS corals available. Native to turbid lagoons and sandy substrates of the Indo-Pacific, it was historically considered difficult to maintain, but modern reef-keeping techniques and improved phytoplankton feeding regimens have significantly increased success rates. It prefers moderate lighting (150–250 PAR) and gentle indirect flow; strong currents cause polyp retraction. Weekly target feeding with phytoplankton and rotifers is important for long-term survival alongside stable calcium, alkalinity, and low nutrient levels.
The Goniopora (Flowerpot Coral) lives 10+ years with proper care.
The ideal temperature for the Goniopora (Flowerpot Coral) is 24〜27℃.

It prefers moderate lighting (150-250 PAR). Native to turbid lagoons and sandy bottoms, it does not need overly strong light.
Gentle indirect flow suits it. Strong flow makes the polyps retract, so keep the current mild enough for the flower-like polyps to extend.
Keep the water at 24-27°C. Stable Ca and KH plus low nitrate and phosphate are the keys to long-term success.
It responds strongly to feeding; offering phytoplankton or rotifers 1-2 times a week is important for long-term care.
Regular feeding important. Powder food effective
RTN risk — avoid sudden water quality changes
Intermediate. This is an intermediate-level species. Some prior experience and knowledge of environmental management are recommended.
The ideal temperature for Goniopora (Flowerpot Coral) is 24〜27℃. Avoid sudden temperature changes and maintain a stable environment.
The average lifespan of Goniopora (Flowerpot Coral) is 10+ years with proper care. With proper care and nutrition, they can live a long and healthy life.
Goniopora (Flowerpot Coral) feeds on: Photosynthesis + liquid/powder food. Aim for a balanced diet with appropriate feeding frequency.
