The Canary Blenny is a strikingly colored fish, its entire body washed in vivid lemon-yellow, and a species found only in the waters around Fiji. Active and energetic, it spends much of its time swimming through the mid-water column, making it a lively focal point in a reef aquarium. Like other fang blennies, it carries venomous fangs on its lower jaw and will bite in self-defense if it feels threatened, though it also appreciates live rock crevices to retreat into when it wants to feel secure. Because individuals can be territorial toward their own kind, it's best kept as a single specimen per tank. Considered suitable for intermediate-level aquarists, the Canary Blenny rewards a well-maintained reef setup with its brilliant color and quick, darting movements.

迎接金絲雀盾齒鳚前需要了解的7件事
1Vivid All-Yellow Coloration
The Canary Blenny is endemic to the waters around Fiji and is washed entirely in lemon-yellow. Its striking color makes it a standout accent in a reef aquarium.
2Venomous Fangs on the Lower Jaw
It carries venomous fangs on its lower jaw and will bite to defend itself when threatened or attacked. Take care not to handle it carelessly when reaching into the tank.
3Keep One Per Tank
Its territorial instincts run strong, so housing multiple individuals together can lead to fighting. As a rule, keep just one Canary Blenny per tank.
4An Active Mid-Water Swimmer
Rather than staying still near the substrate, it swims briskly through the middle of the water column. A layout that allows open swimming space suits it well.
5Live Rock Hiding Spots Help It Settle
It has a habit of retreating into crevices when it feels uneasy. Arranging live rock with gaps and holes gives it places to hide and helps it feel secure.
6Reef Tank Compatibility
It's known to have little impact on corals and invertebrates, making it easy to introduce into a reef aquarium. It's a solid option to consider for reef tank stocking.
7Care Level: Intermediate
This species is considered suitable for intermediate-level aquarists who have some experience with water quality management. Before bringing one home, make sure your tank is well established and stable.
金絲雀盾齒鳚的常見問題

- Q.Can it be kept in a reef tank with corals?
- A.It's considered reef-safe with minimal impact on corals and other invertebrates, making it well suited to reef aquariums. That said, individual behavior can vary, so it's worth observing it after introduction.
- Q.Is it suitable for beginners?
- A.It's generally considered suitable for intermediate-level aquarists, so it's best introduced once you're comfortable managing water quality. Having plenty of live rock hiding spots ready also helps it settle in.
