The Bambino is a designer hybrid breed created by crossing the Sphynx with the Munchkin, first developed in the United States around 2005. The name means "baby" in Italian, a reference to the breed's permanently kitten-like appearance. Bambinos are small, compact cats that combine the Sphynx's hairlessness with the Munchkin's short legs. Like the Sphynx, they require regular bathing and warm environments. They are exceptionally affectionate, social, and playful cats that follow their owners closely. The breed is not recognized by major cat registries. Health considerations include hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM), skin issues, and skeletal concerns related to the short-leg mutation.
