Dybowsky's Stag Beetle

Lucanus dybowskyi occurs from the Korean peninsula into northern China and the Amur region. The Japanese Wikipedia entry for the genus treats it as the subspecies L. m. dybowskyi of the Japanese miyama stag beetle and calls it the Korean miyama; the GBIF backbone, by contrast, registers Lucanus dybowski Parry, 1873 at species rank, so the sources differ on how to place it. Records in GBIF are commonest in China and Korea, with some from Russia. The BE-KUWA 2025 edition registers a captive record of 72.0mm and a wild record of 68.3mm under the Korean name. It is close to the Japanese miyama stag beetle, and cool rearing is presumably called for in the same way, though no figure published specifically for this beetle could be found.
