Agave parrasana 'Globe'
A garden-selected cultivar of Agave parrasana with exceptionally spherical rosette formation. Rounder than standard Parrasana; its near-perfect globe form is highly valued by collectors.
Agave parrasana 'Globe' is a selected cultivar of A. parrasana that takes the species' characteristic cabbage-head rosette form to its ultimate expression—an almost perfectly spherical shape. The broad blue-gray leaves overlap even more densely and regularly than the parent species, creating a strikingly symmetrical globular rosette. The reddish-brown to dark purple marginal teeth remain prominent, providing excellent color contrast against the blue-gray foliage. Mature rosettes reach 40–70 cm in diameter, trending slightly smaller than the species type. Like its parent, it originates from the high mountains of Coahuila, Mexico, and is cold-hardy to approximately -10°C. Limited availability as a selected cultivar positions it as a premium variety. Particularly popular among collectors who pursue perfect symmetry in their specimens.
