Fees & Pricing

No registration, listing or monthly fees. Only when a sale closes, the breeder pays 5% of the sale price plus consumption tax (5.5% incl. tax).

Example: ¥100,000 sale → ¥5,500 commission incl. tax, ¥94,500 payout. No minimum fee, no buyer fee.

Buyers contact you via the listing's 'Contact' button using the messaging feature.

Direct Deal Between Breeder and Buyer

Arrange handover, shipping, and payment (bank transfer, cash, etc.) directly with the buyer. BreederDirect does not hold funds.

Report & Invoice

After closing, report the deal from the breeder dashboard. BreederDirect issues a commission invoice for 5% excl. tax (5.5% incl. tax). Deals with buyers met through BreederDirect must be reported whether or not the animal was listed (Terms, Art. 5).

Are there any costs to register or list?▼
No. Account registration, breeder registration, and listing are all free. There are no monthly or upfront fees.
When are fees charged?▼
Only when a sale closes: 5% of the sale price plus consumption tax (5.5% incl. tax). Listing alone incurs no fees.
Is it 5% or 5.5%?▼
Both describe the same amount. The commission is 5% of the sale price; adding 10% consumption tax makes it 5.5% incl. tax. Example: ¥100,000 sale → ¥5,000 commission + ¥500 tax = ¥5,500.
Are there fees for buyers?▼
No. There are no additional fees for buyers. The displayed price is what you pay.
How are fees paid?▼
The buyer pays the breeder directly (bank transfer, cash on pickup, etc.); BreederDirect does not hold funds. After the deal closes, the breeder reports it from the dashboard and BreederDirect issues a commission invoice.
Do small sales incur fees?▼
There is no minimum fee. Regardless of the sale price, the commission is 5% of the sale price plus tax, and every deal must be reported.
What about campaign pricing?▼
Newly registered breeders may receive a limited number of commission-free deals during a campaign. Details and deadlines are on the breeder recruitment page; the standard rate on this page applies once the free allowance is used.
