Alternanthera Reineckii Mini

Alternanthera reineckii 'Mini' is a stem plant in the family Amaranthaceae, native to Brazil, and is an improved cultivar of standard Alternanthera reineckii with smaller, more compact leaves suited for foreground to midground use. The leaf surface is dark green to olive, while the underside displays vibrant red to pink coloration; with high lighting and CO2 addition, the entire plant becomes a rich red-purple. Growth is slow, making it easy to maintain shape for extended periods once established. Regular liquid fertilizer application (focusing on iron and potassium) is effective for sustaining color expression. As an accent color among predominantly green aquascape layouts, even a single-point planting creates a tightening effect on the composition. Water temperature of 22–28°C and soft, slightly acidic to neutral water are preferred.
