Echeveria ‘Momotaro’
A popular Japanese echeveria cultivar with beautiful peach-tipped leaves and neat rosette. Bred domestically, it displays stunning seasonal color changes.
Echeveria 'Momotaro' is a hybrid cultivar developed by Japanese succulent breeders, named for the Japanese folk hero 'Momotaro' (Peach Boy) in reference to the peachy-pink leaf tips that give the rosette its distinctive appearance. Coloration deepens during the cooler months of autumn and winter and under strong light exposure. Rosettes are well-formed and typically reach 10–15 cm across. Full sun is recommended to maintain compact growth and bring out the pink tones. Watering should be conservative, with the soil fully dried between sessions, and water applied at the base to avoid marking the powdery leaf coating. Cold tolerance extends to approximately 0°C. The cultivar is easy to grow and propagate by leaf cuttings or offsets, making it popular with both beginners and experienced collectors.
