Caudex plant known as Desert Rose. Beautiful pink flowers bloom from plump trunk. Extremely heat-tolerant.
Adenium is a genus of succulent plants in the family Apocynaceae, native to arid regions of the Arabian Peninsula and eastern to southern Africa. Widely known as Desert Rose, it is prized for its dramatically swollen caudex and strikingly beautiful pink, red, or white flowers. In cultivation, plants typically reach 30–100 cm in height over many years. During the spring-to-autumn growing season, full direct sunlight is essential for flowering; insufficient light results in non-blooming plants. Watering should be generous during active growth. As temperatures cool in autumn, plants lose their leaves and enter dormancy, during which watering must be sharply reduced or ceased entirely. Minimum winter temperature of approximately 10°C is required, making indoor overwintering necessary in temperate regions. All parts of the plant contain toxic cardiac glycosides and should be handled with care.
