Bonica 82

Bred by Meilland (France) in 1982 and inducted into the World Rose Hall of Fame in 1987, 'Bonica' established the modern standard for landscape roses. Its pale pink, small to medium blooms appear in continuous clusters from spring until frost, followed by a decorative display of red hips through winter. Cold hardiness is exceptional, enabling its use in parks, roadsides, and gardens across a wide range of climates. The spreading habit, reaching 0.8–1.2m in height and wider in spread, suits use as ground cover, on slopes, and at the front of borders. Disease resistance is outstanding and the plant thrives with minimal chemical intervention. In winter, simply shearing the plant by half is sufficient; by spring it reliably produces its full, generous display of bloom.
