Endlers Livebearer

Endler's livebearer (Poecilia wingei) is a tiny wild guppy relative native to Laguna de Patos, a shallow, plant-choked coastal lagoon on the Paria Peninsula in northeastern Venezuela. Males are remarkably small at 2–3 cm, displaying vivid metallic green, orange, and black patterns with a natural, untamed beauty distinct from the ornate fins of fancy guppies. Females share the plain coloration typical of poeciliid livebearers. Many commercially available specimens are hybrids with common guppies; those seeking pure-strain Endlers should purchase from dedicated breeders. Water conditions should be slightly hard and alkaline (pH 7.0–8.0) at 24–28°C. Breeding freely as livebearers, Endlers are well-suited to nano setups — a 20-cm cube is sufficient for a breeding colony. Peaceful with other small fish, they accept any fine foods: micro pellets, finely crushed flake, and small live or frozen foods. Their wild-type beauty and small size make them a flagship species for nano and botanical aquariums.
