Crassula ʽBuddha’s Temple’
A unique Crassula with stacked leaves forming a tower-like geometric shape.
Crassula 'Buddha's Temple' is a hybrid cultivar bred from C. pyramidalis and C. perfoliata var. minor, recognized for its extraordinary geometric architecture: square, concave leaves stacked in a tight, four-sided column, creating the appearance of a miniature pagoda. Plants grow slowly to 10–15 cm tall. Bright indirect light to gentle direct sun is optimal; intense sun causes bleaching or scorch. Watering must be very conservative—always allow the substrate to dry completely before adding a small amount of water, and reduce watering severely in winter. Excess moisture readily causes root and stem rot. Some growers recommend pinching developing flower buds to prevent the post-flowering decline that can weaken the plant. Propagation by stem cuttings is possible but must be done carefully to preserve the column shape. The cultivar is highly prized among collectors for its unusual and precise geometric form.
