About
Adiantum, the maidenhair fern, is a genus of about 250 species of ferns in the subfamily Vittarioideae of the family Pteridaceae, distributed across tropical and temperate regions worldwide. The genus name comes from the Greek meaning 'unwetted', referring to the fronds' ability to shed water without becoming wet. Delicate fan-shaped leaflets arranged on glossy black stems create an extraordinarily elegant appearance unlike any other houseplant.
