A dwarf variety of V. Reginae. Beautiful compact size with dense white paint markings.
Agave victoriae-reginae 'Compacta' is a compact cultivar or selected form of the classic Sasa-no-Yuki agave. It retains all the characteristic beauty of the species—the dark green leaves with bold white margins and bud imprints—in a significantly smaller package, with mature plants reaching only 15–25 cm in diameter. As with the standard species, the leaf margins are spineless and only the tip bears a spine, making it safe to handle. Growth is extremely slow, and a single plant can remain in a small pot for many years. Full sun is preferred, though afternoon sun protection in summer helps prevent leaf scorch. Water sparingly; reduce to near-drought in winter. A well-draining soil mix is essential to prevent root rot. Cold hardiness is around 5°C—protect from frost. Its minimal footprint makes it suitable for windowsills and shelving, offering collectors the refined elegance of victoria-reginae in an especially space-efficient form.
