Adenium multiflorum
From South Africa, blooming many red-white flowers in winter, called Impala Lily.
Adenium multiflorum, the Impala Lily, grows in dry savannas from South Africa through Mozambique and Zimbabwe. Its flowers are among the most striking in the genus—white petals with vivid red to pink margins—and it has the distinctive habit of blooming on leafless stems after winter leaf drop, creating a dramatic floral display. The caudex becomes thick and substantial with age. It is considered slightly more cold-tolerant than A. obesum. Full sun, extremely porous soil, and generous watering during the growing season are standard. After leaf drop in winter, the plant should be kept dry through the flowering period before the new growing season begins. Frost sensitivity remains, however. The beautiful red-and-white flowers and unique winter-blooming on bare stems make it one of the most distinctive and beloved Adenium species.
