Phalaenopsis equestris is a small species orchid native to tropical and subtropical forests in the Philippines (Luzon, Palawan) and southern Taiwan. Plants are compact, 10–20 cm, with narrow leathery leaves. The small flowers, 1–3 cm across, are white to pale pink with a contrasting deep pink to purple lip. A distinctive trait is the inflorescence's ability to continue branching and reblooming over many years when the spike is left intact, producing flowers continuously for extended periods. Cultivation requires warm temperatures (18–28°C), bright indirect light, and a bark or sphagnum medium with consistent moisture. Its continuous reblooming habit makes it one of the most practical and popular miniature Phalaenopsis species.
