Deep Blue medaka is an improved variety with indigo-blue body color even deeper than conventional blue medaka. Its deep-sea-like blue — a step darker than Marine Blue — makes it particularly popular among blue medaka collectors. Dark containers maximize the depth of body color; blue-spectrum LED lighting adds further mystique. White containers allow easier color inspection. Hardy in 5–30°C, neutral to slightly alkaline water; also compatible with green water environments. Selective breeding of the most deeply colored individuals maintains and intensifies the blue. A favorite among enthusiasts who prefer the deepest blue tones.
