Paphiopedilum Maudiae is a classic hybrid derived from P. callosum and P. lawrenceanum, combining attractive mottled foliage with elegant flowers. Each stem bears a single large flower, 8–12 cm across, with a green-and-white striped dorsal sepal, green petals, and a white to green pouch—a clean, sophisticated color combination. Flowering occurs mainly from winter to spring (December–April), with some plants reblooming repeatedly. It is exceptionally easy to cultivate: bright indirect light, temperatures of 18–28°C, and a moist but well-draining sphagnum or bark medium. Widely recommended as one of the best entry-level Paphiopedilum hybrids for beginners.
