Oncidium Sharry Baby

Oncidium Sharry Baby, nicknamed the Chocolate Orchid, is one of the most popular fragrant orchids in cultivation, celebrated for its intense chocolate-like sweet scent that fills an entire room when in bloom. Plants grow 30–50 cm with pseudobulbs bearing leathery leaves. The small flowers, 1–2 cm across, are reddish-brown to purple-brown with contrasting white lips, borne in dense sprays of dozens to over a hundred per inflorescence. Flowering occurs mainly in autumn to winter (October–December). Cultivation requires bright indirect light, temperatures of 15–28°C, and a bark or sphagnum medium. Reducing water in autumn encourages flower spikes, and monthly fertilization supports vigorous growth.
