關於這種疾病

Commonly seen in cichlids and discus, this condition produces pitting or hole-like lesions around the sensory organs of the head and lateral line. Involvement of internal parasites (Hexamita spp.) combined with nutritional deficiencies and chronic water quality deterioration is thought to play a role.

主要症狀

  • Small pits or hole-like lesions appear around the head and lateral line
  • White mucus-like discharge may be observed from lesion sites
  • Loss of appetite and gradual wasting
  • Lesions spread and general lethargy develops as the condition progresses

主要原因

  • Involvement of internal parasites of the genus Hexamita (Spironucleus)
  • Nutritional deficiencies including vitamin C and minerals
  • Chronic water quality deterioration and elevated nitrate levels
  • Stress and weakened immune function

預防(飼養環境與日常照護)

Preventing nitrate accumulation through proper filter management and regular water changes, and providing a nutritionally balanced and varied diet, are the fundamentals of prevention. Avoiding overcrowding helps reduce stress.

專賣店能做哪些處理?

A specialist store familiar with aquatic animals will comprehensively assess the severity and husbandry environment (water quality and diet), providing specific guidance on environmental improvement and nutritional management. While aquatic-animal veterinarians are limited in number, those who do treat fish may be able to investigate internal parasites and advise on a management plan.
