Caused by the parasitic dinoflagellate Amyloodinium ocellatum, this disease presents as a fine golden-brown to gray dusting on the fish's skin, resembling sprinkled pepper. It progresses faster than marine ich and can be fatal if not addressed promptly.
主要症狀
- Fine golden-brown to gray pepper-like dusting on the skin
- Vigorous flashing behavior (rubbing body against objects)
- Gill swelling and respiratory distress (rapid mouth movement)
- Rapid deterioration and loss of appetite
主要原因
- Infestation by Amyloodinium ocellatum (marine velvet parasite)
- Introduction of new fish without quarantine treatment
- Stress from water quality deterioration or temperature fluctuations
- Spread from existing infection sources within the tank
預防（飼養環境與日常照護）
Always quarantine new fish for 2-4 weeks before introduction. Maintain stable water temperature, quality, and salinity, and avoid overcrowding to reduce stress.
