Bred by Armstrong Nurseries (USA) in 1977 and a winner of both AARS and the World Rose Hall of Fame, 'Double Delight' earns its name through a dual gift of spectacular color and outstanding fragrance. Creamy-white petals are edged and flushed with cherry-red — a coloration that intensifies dramatically with sun exposure, so each bloom is uniquely painted by its environment. The strong, classic Damask fragrance is consistently awarded top marks in fragrance competitions worldwide. Susceptibility to black spot means good air circulation is important. Full sun, including afternoon exposure, deepens the red coloring; shaded conditions produce paler, predominantly white blooms. Regular fertilizing through the growing season supports its vigorous repeat-blooming habit.
