The superb parrot (Polytelis swainsonii), also known as Barraband's parrot, is a slender medium-sized parrot native to eucalypt and riverine woodland of south-eastern Australia. Males are green with a yellow face and a red crescent across the breast; females are duller green. Graceful and gentle, it is well suited to aviaries and is a protected species in the wild.
