What Is a Morph?

In the wild, camouflage coloring helps animals survive predation. In captivity, however, unusual colors and patterns have been selectively bred and stabilized as "morphs."

Morphs are classified by inheritance pattern: - Dominant: The trait appears with just one copy of the gene - Recessive: The trait only appears when two copies are present - Co-dominant: One copy produces the trait; two copies create a "super" form
