Summer Care Guide for Succulents and Agave

Succulents struggle with summer heat and humidity. Preventing root rot and melting from excess moisture is critical.

Shade Protection Direct summer sunlight causes leaf burn. Install shade cloth (30-50%). Haworthia especially needs 50% shade.

Adjusting Watering Summer-growing types (Agave, Adenium, etc.) continue normal watering. Winter-growing types (Lithops, Conophytum, etc.) should be nearly dry. Water in the evening or at night — daytime watering causes moisture buildup.

Ensuring Air Circulation The most important factor against moisture damage. Use a circulating fan. Space out plants if they're too crowded.

Avoid Repotting Summer repotting causes significant root damage. If unavoidable, reduce watering to let roots recover.

Bringing Indoors If temperatures exceed 35°C for consecutive days, temporarily bring plants inside. However, keep near windows to prevent insufficient light.
