Bicolor Blenny

Blennies are a broad group of small, bottom-dwelling fishes belonging primarily to the family Blenniidae, found across shallow coastal waters and coral reefs worldwide. Recognizable by their large expressive eyes, worm-like undulating movement, and habit of tucking into rock crevices or sandy burrows, they have a devoted following among marine aquarists. The bicolor blenny (Ecsenius bicolor), one of the most popular species in the hobby, displays a striking two-tone pattern of deep blue anteriorly and vivid orange posteriorly. Predominantly herbivorous, it grazes algae from tank walls, substrate, and live rock, earning a useful role as a natural cleaner. A 60-litre or larger aquarium with rock caves or shelter structures is recommended for optimal well-being.
