Hagoromo

The Hagoromo (meaning "Feather Robe" or "Angel's Robe") is an Oranda-type goldfish with exceptionally long, flowing tail fins reminiscent of a celestial maiden's robes in Japanese mythology. This combination of a developed wen and an extended veil-like tail creates one of the most lavishly adorned goldfish varieties. The tail can extend to 1.5–2 times the body length, trailing gracefully in the water. Available in red, white, sarasa, and calico colorations. The delicate fins are vulnerable to deformation or tearing in strong water currents, so low-flow filtration—either sponge filters or flow-reduced external filters—is essential. Water quality must be consistently clean to prevent fin rot; regular water changes are particularly important. Stable temperature of 18–25°C and a spacious tank of 60 liters or more provide the ideal environment for the Hagoromo's flowing fins to be displayed at their best. The wen also requires monitoring for bacterial infections.
