Monstera Deliciosa

Monstera deliciosa, commonly known as the Swiss cheese plant or split-leaf philodendron, is a species of flowering plant in the family Araceae, native to tropical forests of Mexico and Central America. The species is celebrated for its striking, large, glossy green leaves that develop characteristic natural holes and deep splits as the plant matures — an adaptation thought to help leaves withstand strong winds and allow light to reach lower foliage in the dense rainforest understory. Indoors, it can reach 2–3 m in height, with individual leaves spanning over 60 cm. It thrives in bright indirect light and is sensitive to direct sunlight, which can cause leaf scorch. Watering should be thorough but infrequent, allowing the top layer of soil to dry between waterings. Monstera deliciosa has become one of the world's most recognizable houseplants, beloved for its bold, sculptural foliage that brings a tropical atmosphere to any interior.
