Color variant of Balinese, a long-haired Siamese type. Silky coat with point colors. Vocal and devoted to owner.
The Javanese is a longhaired cat closely related to the Balinese and Siamese, developed in the United States to extend the Balinese color range beyond the four traditional Siamese point colors to include red, cream, tortoiseshell, and lynx point patterns. It shares the Balinese's elegant, slender Oriental body type, semi-long silky coat, plumed tail, and vivid blue eyes. Classification varies by registry; some treat the Javanese as a separate breed while others consider it a color division of the Balinese. In temperament, Javanese cats are highly vocal, affectionate, and intelligent, sharing the Siamese's characteristic personality.
